2. To switch off the printer, press the power button. If the printer does not switch off, pull the power line from it.
3. After unplugging the plug that gets power to the printer, wait for about a minute
4. Attach the power cable straight to a wall socket and the printing device, then turn it on to finish the reset.
5. Glue remnant on the label or dust on the printer cartridge’s vent might trigger an error, hence we have to wash it to cure HP ink cartridge failure
6. Open the opening or cover to the cartridge access compartment and allow the carriage to stop moving before proceeding to the next step
7. There will be a tab in the cartridge which is used to take the cartridge out from the printer. Gently pull the ink cartridge by pushing in the tab
8. Don’t keep the ink cartridges out of the machine for 30 minutes. This might cause harm both to the printer itself and the ink cartridges.
9. After taking out the cartridges, inspect to see if there is an orange-colored pull tab attached to it, if it is, you need to remove it first
10. To remove the tab, use a pin or a paper clip, and also remove any dust or adhesive from the top of the cartridges
11. Reinsert the cartridge into the color-coded slot, then press down until it snaps in place.
12. Repeat these procedures to clean the vents on the remaining cartridges.
13. To fully fix the HP ink system failure, you can choose to replace your cartridges.
14. If your cartridges or printers are still under warranty, you can get them replaced by contacting HP customer care
15. Open the door or cover to the cartridge access compartment. Wait until the carriage has stopped moving before proceeding.
16. Remove the cartridge, then insert a fresh one into the slot.

How to fix HP ink cartridge failure for TYPE 2 cartridges

HP printer says ink system has failed if there is an error with the ink cartridges installed on your printer. If you are using an HP printer which uses an HP 937,955 and ink cartridges similar to it, you can fix the HP Printer Ink System Failure by following the steps below

1. Press the power button for 5 seconds to turn the printer off and wait till the printer LED lights blink

7. Disconnect the printer again from the power

15. To clean the printhead, turn on the computer 
16. Open the HP printer software
17. Go to the maintenance tab of the printer and find the option for Printhead cleaning
18. Click on “Printhead cleaning”
19. The automatic cleaning process of the printhead will start
